Needs vs wants

Philippians 4:19

     But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

  • We struggle with knowing the differnece between our needs and our wants....
  • Our God promises to supply all our needs and He never failed His servants in the Bible...

Psalm 37:25

     I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

  • Here David penned this truth in Pslams...
  • In His word the closer we get Christ, the better we hear His voice...

Psalm 106:15

     And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

  • Israel, lived too far from God...
  • They complained, murmured, and nagged to God for their wants rather than their needs...
  • Because of their complaining God gave them their request...

Proverbs 30:8-9

     Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with good convenient for me:
     Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

  • God knows what is the best for us...
  • That is why the writer of Proverbs prayed above...

Romans 8:26-27

     Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
     And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
